ISLAMABAD/ PYONGYANG: North Korea has denied media reports that it supplied ammunition to Russia to use against Ukraine.

North Korea rubbishes media reports

In a statement, North Korea called the media reports ‘groundless’ and exaggerate.

At the same time, Pyongyang denounced the United States for supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine, according to North Korea’s official KCNA news agency.

Earlier, Japan’s Tokyo Shimbun claimed that North Korea had supplied munitions including artillery shells to Russia via a train through their border. It said an additional weapons shipment was expected in the coming weeks, Reuters said.

A North Korean foreign ministry spokesperson said that the Japanese media’s incorrect report that Pyongyang provides ammunition to Russia was the most absurd red herring, which was not worth any comment or interpretation.

On Thursday, the White House said that North Korea has completed an initial arms delivery to Wagner Group, a private Russian military company, to help bolster Russian forces in Ukraine.
