PYONGYANG, North Korea: North Korean state media on Tuesday criticized the United States’ electoral process and expressed skepticism about future dialogue regardless of the outcome of the upcoming presidential race in November.

A column in KCNA, without a named author, described the political climate between Democrats and Republicans as “confused by infighting” and unlikely to change.

The column dismissed the need for dialogue, stating that any talks perceived as confrontational were unnecessary. It referenced former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments at the Republican National Convention, where he highlighted his relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, noting it was “nice to get along with somebody who has a lot of nuclear weapons.”

Despite Trump’s previous efforts to build ties, the column argued that no substantial positive changes resulted. The U.S. and South Korea remain concerned about North Korea’s growing military cooperation with Russia, denying any arms transfers despite accusations of violating international laws.
