SEOUL: North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un has said he will no longer seek reunification and reconciliation with South Korea, official media reported on Sunday.
The official KCNA news agency quoted Kim Jong Un as saying at a year-end party meeting that they believed that it was a mistake that they should no longer make to consider the people who declare them as the “main enemy” as someone to seek unification and reconciliation with.

Meanwhile, North Korea has said one of its policy targets in the year 2024 is to launch three more reconnaissance satellites to advance North Korea’s army and keep an eye on enemy forces, official media reported on Sunday.
The KCNA stated that based on the experience of successfully launching and operating the first military reconnaissance satellite in the current year 2023, the task of launching three more satellites in 2024 was declared to energetically promote the development of space science and technology.
North Korea said it had successfully launched its first military spy satellite on November 21, transmitting images of the Pentagon, the White House, US army bases and “target regions” in South Korea.
The first successful launch was preceded by 2 failed attempts last year when its new Chollima-1 rocket crashed into the sea, Reuters reported.
The development raised regional tensions and also sparked fresh sanctions from Australia, the US, South Korea and Japan. North Korea has yet to release any image from the new satellite, leaving foreign governments and analysts to debate its abilities.
