CHICAGO, USA: Former President Barack Obama delivered a powerful endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, signaling her readiness to lead the nation.

Obama, greeted with enthusiastic applause, emphasized that Harris is prepared to take on the presidency, describing her as a leader who fights for those in need. His support echoed his iconic 2008 campaign slogan, with the crowd chanting “Yes she can” in unison.

Michelle Obama also spoke at the convention, expressing her excitement for Harris and highlighting the “contagious power of hope.” The event marked a symbolic passing of the torch, as the Democratic Party rallies behind Harris following President Joe Biden’s decision to end his reelection bid.

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff reinforced the message, stating that Harris is exactly the right leader for the current moment in American history. The convention underscored the party’s unity and confidence in Harris’s ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

Harris, who has been drawing large crowds, addressed the convention via video from Milwaukee, where she held a separate event. Her ability to fill venues previously used by both Democratic and Republican conventions highlighted her growing popularity.

As the Democrats look to the future, comparisons to Obama’s historic 2008 campaign are emerging, with hopes that Harris can replicate his success and lead the party to victory in November.
