RIYADH: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, on Saturday rejected forced displacement plans and demanded an immediate cessation of the Israeli aggression against the innocent Palestinians.

The OIC Chief was addressing the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit held in Riyadh to discuss the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people. The Summit, opened by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, brought together leaders, heads of government, and delegations from member states of both the OIC and the League of Arab States.

Expressing gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting the Summit, Secretary-General Taha underscored the importance of the meeting in confirming solidarity with and support for the Palestinian people. He appreciated the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

OIC Chief Calls for Complete Cessation to Israeli Aggression

The Secretary-General emphasized the joint commitment to the central cause of Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, calling for an immediate, durable, and complete cessation of the ongoing Israeli aggression. He urged the opening of humanitarian corridors to deliver aid and essential needs to the Gaza Strip while stressing the necessity of providing international protection for the Palestinian people.

Rejecting plans for the forced displacement of Palestinians, Secretary-General Taha asserted that a just, lasting, and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian Cause requires the establishment of an independent State of Palestine on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. This solution, he highlighted, should be based on international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
