OIC Concerned Over Violation of Territorial Integrity of Members States

JEDDAH: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed great concern the developments in the Middle East region, the resulting serious repercussions, and the violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of some OIC member countries, an OIC statement said on Tuesday.

It said that in line with the principles and objectives enshrined in the OIC and the UN Charters and international norms, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Member States should be respected.

The statement further said the General Secretariat renews the OIC firm position in supporting the unity, independence, and sovereignty of Iraq and all Member States over all their lands.

It added in light of the developments in the region, the OIC Secretary-General, Hissein Brahim Taha, calls for all efforts to be made for peace in the region and for its states to enjoy security, peace, stability, and prosperity.
