JEDDAH: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) General Secretariat has strongly denounced the Israeli occupation government’s recent move to establish six new settlement outposts in the Masafer Yatta area, located south of Hebron.

The OIC reiterates that the Israeli colonial settlement policy is both illegitimate and illegal under International Law and UN Resolutions, including Security Council Resolution 2334 of 2016.

The OIC emphasizes the importance of holding Israel, as the occupying power, accountable for this act, which is viewed as a continuation of its ongoing violations and crimes, including colonial settlement activities, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement. These actions directly undermine the prospects of a just and lasting peace in the region.

OIC Asks International Community to Fulfill Responsibilities

Furthermore, the OIC calls upon the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in putting an end to all Israeli occupation policies against the Palestinian people, their land, and their sacred sites.

The OIC emphasizes the need for a comprehensive resolution that ensures the rights and sovereignty of the Palestinian people and guarantees the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
