JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday condemned two recent incidents of burning copies of the Holy Qur’an in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The OIC General Secretariat strongly denounced the actions of far-right groups, who are attempting to spread hate and intolerance towards Islam and Muslims under the guise of freedom of expression.

The organization called on Danish authorities to take necessary measures against these hate crimes’ perpetrators and prevent further provocations.

The OIC also expressed its condemnation of the Israeli occupation authorities’ recent approval of a plan to construct over a thousand new settlement units in occupied Palestinian territory, including Al-Quds Al-Sharif.

The OIC reiterated that this action is illegal and violates international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, including Security Council Resolution No. 2334.

The OIC also expressed strong opposition to the Israeli Knesset’s decision to cancel the “disengagement law,” which legitimizes colonial settlement activities in occupied Palestinian territory.

The organization called on the international community to enforce the resolutions of international legitimacy and pressure Israel to halt its aggressions and continuous violations against the Palestinian people, their land, and their sanctities.

The OIC’s condemnation of these actions underscores its commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, and mutual respect among all religions and cultures.

The organization remains steadfast in its support of the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination while also working towards a more peaceful and just world for all.
