OIC Demands Revocation of Illegal Measures in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir

JEDDAH: The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has once again called for the revocation of all illegal measures implemented on and after August 5, 2019, in the disputed territory of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The OIC emphasized that these measures were designed to alter the demographic structure of the region and reiterated its solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their pursuit of the right to self-determination.

In a press statement issued from the OIC Secretariat in Jeddah, the organization expressed deep concern over the prevailing situation in the Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, particularly after four years of the unilateral changes made to the internationally recognized status of the territory.

OIC Calls for Immediate Cessation of Human Rights Violations in IIOJK

The OIC General Secretariat highlighted the decisions and resolutions of the Islamic Summit and the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. It specifically called for an immediate cessation of human rights violations in the region, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.

Furthermore, the OIC urged the international community to redouble its efforts to resolve the long-standing dispute of Jammu and Kashmir in line with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. The organization emphasized the importance of upholding the principles of justice and respecting the rights and aspirations of the people of the region.
