OIC, IOM Heads Vow to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation in Key Areas

GENEVA: Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Antonio Vitorino, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Tuesday agreed to find ways and means to enhance joint coperation.

The two leader met in IOM‘s headquarters in Geneva at the sidelines of the 52nd session of the Human Rights Council.

Both sides discussed the need of harnessing migration for sustainable development, counter negative stereotyping of migrants and implement durable solutions across the humanitarian, development and peace nexus.

Bilateral cooperation in key areas

They agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key areas, including mutual consultations, strategic dialogue and enhanced coordination.
