JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) General Secretariat has reiterated call for the Implementation of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir, a statement said on Sunday.
The OIC said, “As 5 January 2024 marks 75 years since the UN Commission for India and Pakistan (UNCIP) unanimously approved a resolution espousing the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people through a free and impartial plebiscite under the auspices of the UN, the General Secretariat of the Organization of OIC reiterates its call on the world to honor the UNCIP decision, which is upheld by the United Nations Security Council in its subsequent resolutions.”

The statement added that the General Secretariat reaffirms the OIC’s support for the Kashmiri people’s inalienable right to self-determination, and for the final settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per the relevant UNSC resolutions. The OIC called again on the world to ensure the implementation of the UN resolutions.
