JEDDAH: Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, on Wednesday received Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, UK Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, Commonwealth and the United Nations, an OIC statement said.
According to the statement during the meeting at the headquarters of the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah, both sides discussed ways and means to enhance dialogue and cooperation between the OIC and the UK, situation in Gaza, and the issue of Palestine.

The Secretary-General reaffirmed the position of the OIC and its call on the global community to urgently take effective steps to stop all forms of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
“Both sides insisted on the need to seek the implementation of the two-state solution. They discussed other issues of common interest including Afghanistan and Sudan,” said the statement.
