JEDDAH: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed grave concern over the current developments in the occupied Palestinian territory and the dangerous escalation of Israeli military actions. The OIC vehemently condemns the Israeli military aggression, which has resulted in the tragic loss of numerous Palestinian lives and left many others wounded.

The OIC firmly asserts that the root cause of the prevailing instability lies in the ongoing Israeli occupation, characterized by a flagrant disregard for international resolutions. The acceleration of Israel’s attacks, daily atrocities against the Palestinian people, their land, and their sacred sites, as well as the systematic denial of their legitimate rights, are cited as the primary drivers of this instability.

In a clear message, the OIC places full responsibility for the escalating crisis on the Israeli occupation. Simultaneously, it calls upon the international community, notably the United Nations Security Council, to fulfill its obligations by promptly intervening to halt the Israeli aggression. The OIC appeals for international protection to be extended to the Palestinian people and emphasizes the urgent need for a credible political process. This process should lead to the termination of the Israeli occupation and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state. The envisioned state, with East Al-Quds as its capital, should be based on the pre-June 4, 1967 borders, in alignment with the principles outlined in international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. The OIC firmly supports the vision of a just and comprehensive peace through a two-state solution.

The OIC’s statement underscores the urgency of addressing the ongoing crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories and offers a clear path toward a peaceful resolution in accordance with international law and diplomatic norms.
