Issues of Kashmir and Palestine
The Prime Minister has highlighted that the increasing number of international conflicts including unconventional crises such as heightened geo-political tensions, climate change, major power rivalry and deepening economic woes of Global South were a strong evidence of world order being in massive panic. Shehbaz Sharif said that at the heart of the international crisis was the UN inability to enforce its Charter in an equitable way, especially “when the matter involves the question of the right to self-determination for peoples under foreign occupation such as in Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.”
He added that as long as the provisions of the United Nations’ founding document are overlooked, the crises will continue to deepen. Reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve to multilateralism, Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that Islamabad would continue to work with the United Nations to make this world a better place for all where rights of all people particularly those struggling for their just, legitimate as well as inalienable rights were realized.
