PARIS: Around 25 percent of trains on the Eurostar network, which includes routes between Paris and London, were canceled on Friday due to extensive sabotage of the French high-speed rail system, the company reported.

Eurostar stated that the cancellations are expected to continue on Saturday and Sunday.

Furthermore, Eurostar trains departing from and arriving in Paris will operate on regular lines instead of high-speed routes.

This change will extend the Paris-London journey by an additional 90 minutes, making the trip around three hours and 50 minutes.

The company anticipates that services will return to normal by Monday morning.

Eurostar operates routes connecting the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.
