One Killed, 10 Injured in Kyrgyzstan’s Military Helicopter Crash

BISHKEK: Kyrgyzstan’s military helicopter crashed during a training flight at the Frunze-1 airbase in the country’s capital, Bishkek, on Wednesday, leaving one person killed and 10 others injured.

According to the country’s aviation agency statement, the incident occurred at 10:55 local time (0455 GMT) involving a military Mi-8 helicopter. Among the injured, four individuals were transported to intensive care, with two in critical condition, as confirmed by the defense ministry.

Aerial footage capturing the aftermath revealed the overturned and severely damaged helicopter, adorned in brown camouflage, situated in a snowy field.

In response to the incident, the defense ministry announced the suspension of an undisclosed number of officials. The investigation into the crash has been initiated.
