HAVELIAN: In Banda Sahib Khan area of Havelian police station, at least one person was shot dead and another critically injured in an ambush carried out by unidentified assailants.

The deceased, identified as Amjad Khan, son of Sarwar Khan, and Shamraiz Khan, son of Yousaf Khan, sustained severe injuries during the attack, which occurred as they were returning from the market.

Initial investigations suggest that the motive behind the attack stems from a longstanding family feud. Amjad Khan, employed as a wedding decorator, and Shamraiz Khan, a serving police officer in Abbottabad, became victims of the violence that erupted due to this feud.

Despite efforts to save him, Amjad Khan tragically succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital. Shamraiz Khan’s condition remains critical, and he has been referred from Type-D Hospital Havelian to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad for further medical treatment.

The roots of the conflict trace back to a murder case from a year ago, in which Amjad Khan was implicated in the killing of Safdar Khan’s wife. After spending two years in custody, he was recently released on bail, reigniting tensions within the community and leading to this violent confrontation.

This incident underscores the need for authorities to address underlying disputes and maintain law and order to prevent further escalation of violence in the region.
