PESHAWAR: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, widespread rains resulted in a tragic incident in the Malakand district where a man lost his life and two of his children were injured as their roof collapsed due to the heavy rains.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported that the incident occurred in the Hari Sakhakot area of the Malakand district. Gul Muhammad was trapped under the debris and succumbed to his injuries, while his daughter Maryam and 18-year-old relative named Shah Wazir sustained injuries. The injured children were promptly transferred to a hospital, where their conditions were described as stable.
Furthermore, the rains triggered landslides in Chitral and Dir districts, leading to the blockage of several roads. Among the affected routes were Ayun Bumborate at Bobash, Chitral Garam Chashma Road, Mirkhani Arandu Road, Damil, Rumboor Road, Shishikoh Madaklash Road at Pursad Nallah, Main Lawari Road in Lower Chitral, Talash Shamsi Khan diversion roads, an alternate route at Bagh Dushkel near Pingal in Lower Dir, Dir Barawal road in Dir Upper, and Chokyatn Sheringal Patrak Road, as well as Sheringal Kumrat Road in Upper Dir. Restoration efforts are underway by the district administration to clear the blocked routes and resume normal traffic flow.
