Ongoing Crackdown on Electricity Theft Proves Effective in KP

MARDAN: A drive against electricity theft and the Kunda mafia continues successfully in various parts of Mardan district. The district administration reported that the operation was launched following directives from the provincial government and instructions from Deputy Commissioner Mardan Fayaz Khan Sherpao.

Additional Assistant Commissioner-III Shagufta Sawar Aminullah Khan, accompanied by officials from the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and police, is leading the crackdown. The joint team conducted operations in several areas, including Abid Khan Kalay, Saleem Khan, Sheikh Yousaf, and Gujar Ghari.

During the operation, Additional Assistant Commissioner-III met with residents and appealed for their cooperation with PESCO officials in the fight against the Kunda mafia. She stressed the importance of timely payment of electricity bills to ensure a permanent solution to the issue of load shedding.

Deputy Commissioner Mardan Fayaz Khan Sherpao emphasized that the district administration, in collaboration with WAPDA officials, is committed to continuing the joint operation against electricity theft until its complete eradication.
