The report said that over 3,000 staff members and 1,000 volunteers manage 3,200 daily iftar spreads, extending 50 kilometres in total length. Cleanup after iftar is efficiently completed within five minutes, according to the SPA.

These arrangements adhere to strict health and organizational standards, ensuring worshippers’ safety and comfort at designated iftar areas inside the mosque and its courtyards.

Rigorous inspection

The SPA said that the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque implements rigorous inspection standards for iftar meals served at the Grand Mosque.

These standards include visual inspections, ensuring safe storage away from contamination, verifying expiration dates and the absence of pollutants, confirming packaging integrity, and checking for spoiled ingredients, the SPA maintained.

Ingredient quality is monitored, and samples are sent to the Grand Mosque’s laboratory for comprehensive analysis, according to the SPA. This laboratory, under the authority’s purview, conducts microbiological and chemical analyses to guarantee the health and safety of pilgrims.

These measures are part of the authority’s commitment to prioritizing public health and ensuring the comfort and safety of all visitors within the Grand Mosque, according to the SPA report.
