Over 8,600 Palestinian Students Killed in Israeli War on Children in Gaza: Ministry

GAZA: At least 8,672 Palestinian students have been killed, and injured 14,583 others since Israel started bombing the besieged Palestinian enclave on October 7 last year.

The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education reported that Israeli occupation forces (IOF) murdered at least 8,572 Palestinian students in the Gaza Strip alone in the nine-month war on the besieged Palestinian enclave. During this period, 14,089 Palestinian students were injured in the brutal Israeli forces’ attacks, the ministry added.

In the West Bank, 100 students have been killed, 494 injured, and 349 detained by Israeli occupation forces.

Furthermore, the ministry stated that 497 teachers and administrators have also been killed, 3,402 injured, and over 109 arrested in the West Bank.

The education ministry also highlighted that 353 government schools, universities, and UNRWA facilities in Gaza have been bombed and vandalized, with 139 severely damaged and 93 completely destroyed. In the West Bank, 57 schools have been raided and vandalized.

Furthermore, 133 government schools in Gaza have been converted into shelters.

The ministry further reported that due to these attacks, approximately 620,000 students in the Gaza Strip remain unable to attend school, many suffering from psychological trauma and enduring challenging health conditions.
