LOS ANGELES: American TV personality and podcaster Paige DeSorbo has spoken about her recent breakup with fellow reality star Craig Conover, making it clear that she stands by her decision to walk away from the relationship after three years.

Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, the 32-year-old Summer House star reflected on the split, saying, “I wouldn’t have done anything differently.”

She added, “I would have taken the Facebook-over-65 mom hate 10 times over if it meant the same outcome and that I chose myself and what I wanted.”

DeSorbo highlighted the gendered double standards women often face when prioritising personal growth over romantic relationships.

“If any 32-year-old man said, ‘You know what? Actually, I’m going to focus on my career for a couple more years,’ the response would be, ‘He’s got a good head on his shoulders,’” she said. “But when it’s a woman, they’re like, ‘That’s scary.’”

She also addressed the public reaction to the breakup, noting the scrutiny she faced. “It’s wild. It’s like, ‘How dare she break up with a man who’s over six foot and wants to marry her? Is she crazy?’” DeSorbo remarked.

DeSorbo first confirmed the breakup on her Giggly Squad podcast in December 2024, bringing an end to her high-profile relationship with Conover, who is best known for his appearances on Southern Charm.

Despite the split, DeSorbo said she harbours no resentment towards her former partner.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on April 24, she expressed genuine goodwill for Conover’s new relationship. “I love it. I’m so happy for him,” she told Cohen.

On her own romantic life, DeSorbo confirmed she is currently dating but not in a serious relationship. “I’m having a very good time,” she shared.

The interview also saw DeSorbo respond to claims made by Conover, including his suggestion that she once proposed marriage at BravoCon.

DeSorbo laughed off the rumour. “Andy,” she said, widening her eyes, “do I look like the kind of person who has the phrase ‘convention centre’ in her wedding invitation?”

She further clarified that the breakup was not mutual. “I broke up with him,” she said. “I felt like he was saying that because he wanted people to be like, ‘She did it, she caused this.’”

DeSorbo also emphasised that her feelings for Conover had been genuine. “I loved him. I wanted to marry him. That was very real,” she said.

She pointed to the current season of Summer House as evidence of her emotional journey during the end of the relationship.

“In the summer, you see me kind of go through all of those emotions in real time. Like, I can see my brain working as I watch it back.”
