Pak Navy Seizes Large Cache of Drugs in North Arabian Sea

KARACHI: Pakistan Navy’s (PN) two ships in collaboration with its air unit seized approximately 5800 kg of drugs in the North Arabian Sea on Wednesday.

Navy ships, while conduction the routine maritime security in the waters, located and affectively intercepted two suspicious dhows. The naval officers searched the boats and seized a huge quantity of drugs of worth 8.6 billion rupees in the international market. 

Both boats have been handed over to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and legal proceedings.

Pak Navy Seized Drugs to Thwart Smuggling Bid

“The successful operation by the Pakistan Navy to thwart the smuggling of a large number of narcotics reaffirms its commitment and resolve to fulfill national and international responsibilities for maintaining the sea safe”, PN said in a statement. It added that PN continues to demonstrate resolve to deter, discourage, dissuade and thwart illicit activities in the waters of Arabian Sea. – APP
