Pak Rupee Declines by 31 Paisas Against US Dollar

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani rupee witnessed a depreciation of 31 paisas against the American dollar in the interbank and was trading on Tuesday at Rs228.65 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs228.34.

As per reports of the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of US dollar in the open market were witnessed at Rs236.5 and Rs238.75 respectively.

The price of the euro went up by 24 paisas and closed at Rs247.51 against Monday’s closing of Rs247.27, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese yen depreciated by one paisa to close at Rs1.77, while an increase of 9 paisas was recorded in the exchange rate of the British pound, which was recorded at Rs279.28 against its last closing of Rs279.19.

Meanwhile, the exchange rates for the Emirates dirham and Saudi riyal went up by 9 paisas each to close at Rs62.25 and Rs60.87 respectively.
