Pak Rupee Mild Decline Continued Against US Dollar in Interbank

ISLAMABAD: After depreciating for Rs1.09 during the last three consecutive days, the Pakistani rupee registered another mild decline on the fourth day against the American dollar as it depreciated by 21 paisa (0.07%) in the inter-bank market on Thursday to settle at Rs280.09, against its last day value of Rs279.88 last day, reported by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Meanwhile, the local currency in the local market remained stable against the US dollar and was traded at the range of Rs282 for selling and Rs279. Last day the Pakistani rupee was traded almost at the same value.

Pak Rupee Against Dollar

Despite a depreciation of Rs1.30 during last four days, the local currency got appreciation over Rs 35 in the interbank and over Rs 55 in the open market during last 50 days. On September 5, this year the local currency recoded the lowest value against the US dollar at Rs307.2 in the interbank and over Rs330 in the open market. However due to follow up crackdown by the government the local currency appreciated both at interbank and open market, except the last four days witnessing a mild depreciation.
