ISLAMABAD: Iftikhar Ali Malik, the founder Chairman of the Pak-US Business Council, on Sunday urged the United States to provide direct market access to Pakistani goods to stabilize its fragile economy that suffered colossal losses in the fight against terrorism in the region.

Talking to a delegation of exporters, he said Pakistan was one of the front-line coalition partners of the US to eliminate terrorism, offering over 90,000 human sacrifices, suffering trillions of dollars in economic damages.

He said still Pakistan’s economy could not absorb the huge financial losses inflicted by anti-terror war.

US, West acknowledge Pakistan’s sacrifices

Malik said the whole of the world, including the United States and West, has multiple times publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s role and the great sacrifices of its valiant security forces in the war on terror.

He said Pak exports during the last 2 decades were also severely affected due to insecurity in the region, which increased, hitting the national economy to its lowest level besides rampant disruptions in the balance of payment.
