MULTAN:Pakistan on Thursday grabbed a lead of 200 runs against the hosts before slumping to 77-4 in their second innings on day three of the second test in Multan.

Earlier, In a fascinating second Test match at Multan, Pakistan’s Sajid Khan emerged as the star of the show, claiming an impressive seven wickets to lead Pakistan’s charge against the visitors.  Sajid’s remarkable bowling performance was pivotal in restricting England’s batting lineup to 291.

Spinner Sajid Khan expressed his gratitude for a standout performance on the second day of the second Test against England, where he played a key role in restricting the visitors to 239-6 at stumps.

After the day’s play, Sajid spoke to the media about his journey, preparation, and aspirations for the upcoming match.

Reflecting on his absence in the Bangladesh series, Sajid emphasized his commitment to delivering his best. He noted his excitement over taking the prized wicket of England’s star batsman Joe Root. “Root is a big star, and it felt great to take his wicket,” he said.

Looking ahead to Day 3, Sajid stated, “Tomorrow, we will aim to get England out quickly.” He acknowledged the importance of early wickets in the innings and is determined to continue contributing to his team’s success.

Sajid shared insights into his preparation and fitness regimen, emphasizing how he maintained his physical condition despite not always being part of the playing XI.

“After the Champions Cup, I only played the final and then moved to departmental cricket. Even when I was not in the team, I kept myself fit and continued practicing,” he said.

The spinner also reflected on a missed opportunity during the match, expressing disappointment over a run-out chance he failed to convert. “I was upset about missing the run-out. Given the kind of fielder I am, that should not have happened,” he admitted.

Having played cricket from a young age, Sajid attributes his success to hard work and self-belief. “I have been playing since I was very young, and I always rely on my hard work and self-belief,” he noted.

Despite a challenging start to his bowling spell, where he conceded runs initially, Sajid persevered with his bowling plan and was ultimately rewarded with crucial breakthroughs. “In the beginning, I leaked some runs, but I stuck to my method, and eventually, I got the results,” he explained.

Representing Pakistan remains a source of immense pride for Sajid. “There is a special feeling when you play for your country, and I always play for the star on this shirt,” he said.
