LEEDS:  The first T20I of the four-match series between Pakistan and England will be played at Headingley Cricket Ground, Leeds, on Wednesday and rain is likely to play spoilsport. BBC reported heavy rain along with a gentle breeze is likely throughout the day. Light showers will start in the morning and the intensity will increase during the day and will remain till 7pm local time, BBC maintained. Moreover, the anticipated temperature of 13 degrees Celsius adds to the discomfort for both players and spectators. Coupled with a high humidity level of 95%, the atmosphere promises to be clammy, further complicating conditions for both competing teams.

This fixture assumes paramount importance as it marks the final competitive encounter for both sides ahead of the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024, slated to commence on June 1 in the US and West Indies. Pakistan is scheduled to contest their group stage matches in the United States, while England will embark on their campaign in the West Indies. Both teams are keen to utilize this series as a platform to fine-tune their squads and strategies in preparation for the global extravaganza.
