NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai affirmed the country’s dedication to safeguarding the rights and well-being of religious minorities during a ceremony celebrating Christmas. Emphasizing that religious minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal rights, he extended greetings to the Christian community in the United States, underscoring the festive spirit of sharing happiness and love.

The event, held at the Pakistani consulate in New York on Tuesday, was attended by a large number of Pakistani-American Christian community members.

Consul General Atozai reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the fundamental principle of equal rights and freedom for all citizens, regardless of their beliefs or religion. This commitment, he emphasized, is rooted in the vision of Quaid-I-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the inviolable guarantees of the Constitution. Atozai highlighted several initiatives undertaken by Pakistan to empower minorities and foster interfaith harmony.

He praised the Pakistani-Christian community for its substantial contributions to the socio-economic development of both Pakistan and the United States.
