LAHORE: Pakistan’s allrounder Imad Wasim has announced his retirement from international cricket.

Imad Wasim in a post on his Instagram account said: “To all fans & supporters: After much thought and reflection, I have decided to retire from international cricket. Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honor of my life, and every moment wearing the green jersey has been unforgettable.”
“Your unwavering support, love, and passion have always been my biggest strength. From the highs to the lows, your encouragement has pushed me to give my best for our beloved country,” he said.
“While this chapter comes to an end, I look forward to continuing my journey in cricket through domestic and franchise cricket, and I hope to keep entertaining you all in new ways,” he said.

Imad Wasim, born on December 18, 1988, in Lahore, Pakistan, is a renowned cricketer celebrated for his ability as an all-rounder. He debuted for Pakistan in 2015, against Zimbabwe demonstrating exceptional skills in limited-overs and Test cricket. A left-arm orthodox spinner and a reliable left-handed batsman, Imad became a vital asset to the team.
Imad Wasim featured in 130 international matches from 2015-2024 scoring 1540 international runs and taking 117 international wickets He also served as the vice-captain when Pakistan won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017.
He was instrumental in Pakistan’s triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, contributing significantly with both bat and ball. Known for his economical bowling and ability to control the middle overs, Imad established himself as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s limited-overs squad.
