ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Morocco to Pakistan Mohamed Karmoune has conferred prestigious Wissam Allaoui, National medal by King of Morocco, on Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, who has recently completed his posting in Morocco as Pakistan’s Ambassador.
In a dignified investiture ceremony in Islamabad, Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune has presented the award to Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan on behalf of the King of Morocco.
As per the details, the King of Morocco had approved the award to the ambassador in recognition of his efforts for many years to make the ties between Morocco and Pakistan stable, strong, and lasting.
Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune read out a brief citation before the formal giving of the award and acknowledged Khan’s role in strengthening Morocco-Pakistan bilateral ties.
The prestigious award is being given as a token of appreciation for the great job you have accomplished and will remind you of the fruitful days spent in Rabat, he added.
On his part, Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan stated serving in Morocco was a delight, as well as an honour for him. He said that the government and the people of Morocco are very generous, hospitable and kind and I shall cherish the memories of the days spent in that wonderful nation.
Hamid Asghar thanked His Majesty for the prestigious award and expressed hope that the relations between the two countries would further be cemented.
The graceful ceremony held at the residence of the Moroccan ambassador Thursday was graced by besides Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan’s family members, colleagues and friends from the Foreign Office, parliamentarians, diplomats, the Moroccan nationals and representatives from civil society and media.
