ISTANBUL: Pakistan’s Embassy in Turkiye, in collaboration with TUYAFED (Turkish Federation of Associations operating in the software and IT sector), arranged a ‘Digital Export Summit’ in virtual format on Thursday.
The thematic areas of the summit included telecommunications, cyber security, fintech, gaming, e-governance, AI & robotics, e-tourism, corporate software, defense technologies, e-commerce, energy and sustainability, health, and education.
Apart from the Consulate General of Pakistan in Istanbul, relevant institutions from Pakistan, including the Ministry of Commerce, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, the Pakistan Software Export Board, the Pakistan IT Industry Association, the National Incubation Centre for Aerospace Technologies, and others participated in the event.
The summit was well attended by over 150 software companies from both sides as well as IT professionals.
Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid, in his opening remarks, expressed his gratitude to TUYAFED and the participants for their presence and underlined the huge potential for bilateral trade and investment in the IT sector.
Pakistan, Turkiye Cooperation in IT Sector
Highlighting the significance of deepening cooperation in the IT sector, he said that both nations would be able to boost IT exports as well as develop indigenous cutting-edge technologies.
He added that this summit would play an important role in implementing the vision of deepening technological cooperation between the two nations envisioned by their leadership.
Addressing the Summit, President TUYAFED Mustafa Çalış provided an overview of the Turkish IT ecosystem and opportunities available for bilateral collaboration.
He said that this summit would help forge business ties between the IT companies of both nations. He expressed satisfaction with the positive interest shown by IT firms from both sides in the event.
