Pakistan Announces Fees for Issuance of E-passports

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s federal government has announced the schedule for depositing fees following granting its consent to the issuance of e-passports in the country.

The fee schedule was unveiled for official, diplomatic, and ordinary categories. Common citizens will be issued e-passports after the expiry of their existing passports.

In the first phase of the initiative, the e-passports will be issued only from Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan. The date for launching the service from other cities of Pakistan will be announced later.

Fees categories for e-passport

The normal fee for the 36-page five-year e-passport is fixed at PKR 9,000, and the urgent fee at PKR 15,000. The normal fee for the 36-page 10-year e-passport is fixed at PKR 13,500, and the urgent fee at PKR 22,500.

The normal fee for the 72-page five-year e-passport is PKR 16,500, and the urgent fee is PKR 27,500. The normal fee for the 72-page 10-year e-passport is PKR 24,750, and the urgent fee is PKR 40,500.

The fee payment can be made through the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), mobile app, MobiCash, and Easypaisa.
