During the course of this operation, significant progress has already been achieved. Approximately 2,000 kilograms of narcotics were seized, and a substantial quantity of chemical/crude ephedrine, totaling 3,000 kilograms, was effectively destroyed. Furthermore, 16 narcotics manufacturing processing machines were rendered inoperable, 18 drug compounds were demolished, and 10 acres of drug cultivation were eradicated.
Local Elders Support Anti-Drug Operation
In conjunction with these efforts, four persons were apprehended in connection with drug-related activities. The operation, meticulously planned and executed, was the result of an all-inclusive meeting held on August 28, 2023, at Headquarters 12 Corps, which saw the active involvement of all relevant stakeholders.
As part of the broader Qila Abdullah Anti-Drug Campaign, a jirga was convened on August 30, wherein local elders unequivocally called for the abolition of drug factories and the cessation of drug production in both Qila Abdullah and Gulistan. In a powerful demonstration of support, these elders pledged their full cooperation to security agencies in their mission to combat the drug menace.
These vital operations led by the Pakistan Army and various law enforcement agencies are not only geared towards safeguarding Balochistan but also prioritizing the protection of educational institutions against the pernicious influence of drugs.
