Pakistan Army Relief Teams Leave for Quake-Hit Turkiye

RAWALPINDI: On the instructions of Army Chief Pakistan General Asim Munir, two teams of Pakistan Army on Tuesday left for quake-hit Turkiye to take part in relief activities on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the Pakistan military teams that are going to Turkiye include Urban Search and Rescue Teams and Medical Teams.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and the three services chiefs have also expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of human lives in the earthquake in Turkiye.

Relief team left for Adana 

The relief team left for Adana city in Turkey on the night between February 6 and February 7 on the special aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force.

The urban search and rescue teams include rescue experts, search dogs, and searching equipment, while the medical teams include military doctors, nursing staff, and technicians.

The medical team of the Pakistan Army could set up a 30-bed mobile hospital. The relief goods include blankets, tents, and other goods. The relief teams of the Pakistan Army could remain in Turkiye until the rescue operation is completed.

ISPR said that “the people and the Pakistan armed forces stand by the Turkish brothers in this hour of difficulty.”
