Pakistan Army Soldier Martyred in Clash with Terrorists in North Waziristan

RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Army soldier was martyred in an intense exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists in the North Waziristan district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.

The Pakistan Army media affairs wing ISPR reported that the firefight occurred in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, leading to the apprehension of one terrorist in an injured condition. However, during the intense exchange of fire, Havildar Muhammad Zahir, aged 41 and a resident of Mardan district, fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom.

A sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area. The Security Forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their commitment to eradicate the menace of terrorism, and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers, such as Havildar Muhammad Zahir, only strengthen our collective resolve.
