Pakistan Athletes to Participate in 8th Children of Asia Games in Russia

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani athletics squad comprising nine members is scheduled to depart for Russia on Monday, June 24, to participate in the 8th Children of Asia Games, set to run from June 25 to July 7.

Brig (R) Wajahat Hussain, President of the Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP), announced that Chaudhry Asghar Ali Gul will lead the team as Chief of Mission, with Madam Nazima Azhar Samdani serving as the coach.

The team includes seven talented athletes: Ghulam Murtaza, Muhammad Sharif, Iqra Riaz, Anaya Ahsan Feroze, Alina Asif, Zanoreen Qayyum, and Zarlina Wasim. They were selected through rigorous trials, and Hussain expressed confidence that they would bring medals home after showcasing their skills at the event.

The 8th Children of Asia Games will take place in Russia, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s athletics history.
