PESHAWAR: The Babusar Top and surrounding hills in Pakistan received snow the other day, turning the weather in Kaghan Valley cold on Friday.

Two Inches Snow at Babusar Top

Climate change has caused snowfall for the second time in the month of July, according to the district administration and locals. So far, two inches of snow have fallen at Babusar Top. The Babusar Road has been blocked to vehicular traffic due to snowfall, while the Karakoram Highway has been closed in three areas, including Minarthor, Tatta Pani, and Cadet College.

The district administration said that work on cleaning the route at TattaPani and Cadet College was now underway. Rescue teams have been dispatched to the Minarthor area to clear the road.

Meanwhile, the administration states that heavy rains lashed Balakot and surrounding areas, generating torrents in rainwater channels and the River Kunhar. “The rain spell may continue for the next 12 hours,” according to the Meteorological Department.
