Pakistan, Bangladesh Vow to Boost Cooperation

SAMOA: Pakistan and Bangladesh have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts.

This consensus was reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Adviser for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Md. Touhid Hossain, on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.

This was the first such interaction between the two officials, after their assumption of office.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the historical, religious and cultural links between the two nations. Both sides also decided to enhance cooperation at various multilateral forums.

The two leaders also discussed the revival of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.
