Pakistan Beat Nepal to Secure Spot in Blind T20 World Cup 2024 Final

LAHORE: Pakistan’s blind cricket team stormed into the final of the Blind T20 World Cup 2024 with a resounding 10-wicket victory over Nepal at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Chasing a modest target of 95 runs, Pakistan’s openers displayed remarkable dominance, reaching the target in just 5.3 overs without losing a wicket.

Kamran Akhtar was the star of the chase, hammering 13 boundaries and a six in a blistering unbeaten knock of 63 off just 21 balls.

His opening partner, Babar Ali, contributed a quick-fire 32 not out from 14 deliveries, ensuring an emphatic finish.

Earlier, Nepal struggled against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack, managing only 94/7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Middle-order batter Durgadatta Paudel top-scored for Nepal with a cautious 40 off 42 balls, while Ramesh Baniyan chipped in with an unbeaten 17 off 30 deliveries.

Pakistan’s bowlers dominated the game, with Mati Ullah delivering an exceptional spell, taking three wickets for just five runs in his four overs.

Badar Munir also contributed with a wicket, keeping Nepal’s batting lineup under constant pressure.

With this commanding win, Pakistan advanced to the tournament’s final, where they will face the winner of the Sri Lanka-Bangladesh semifinal. The final is set to take place at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
