ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has called for the complete implementation of the International Court of Justice (ICJ)’s judgment on the Gaza Strip requiring an immediate and unconditional truce, asking the UNSC to play its mandated role for the purpose.
This was stated by Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in her weekly press briefing. She said that Pakistan calls for the full implementation of ICJ’s judgment to uphold human rights, dignity, and identity of the Palestinians as per the UN Charter, resolutions, and global law. The execution of these provisional steps needs an immediate and unconditional truce to bring about an end to the suffering faced by the Gazans.

Expressing deep concerns regarding the current oppression of Palestinians, she strongly denounced the Israeli assault inside the Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin which the spokesperson said fell in the category of war crimes being perpetrated against Palestinians.
She added that the current atrocities go against the spirit of the provisional steps decided by the IC J to protect the people of Gaza.
Besides, the spokesperson said the suspension of funding for the UNRWA also went against the spirit of the ICJ’s measures. She added that Pakistan urged reconsideration of the decision to suspend funding of UNRWA which has a key role in protecting and supporting Palestinians, she added.
She told the media that on February 5, the government and people of Pakistan would observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day to reaffirm their solidarity with the people of Kashmir in their struggle.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch further said that Islamabad will continue to extend diplomatic, political, and moral support to their Kashmiri brothers and sisters for the just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per the resolutions of UNSC.
