ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for its alleged grave crimes and push for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. During her weekly media briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized the urgent need to end the war on the people of Palestine.

Baloch welcomed the report from the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel. The report confirmed allegations of Israeli war crimes, including the use of starvation as a method of warfare, murder, attacks on civilians, forcible transfers, torture, and inhuman punishment.

Addressing the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Baloch commemorated the victims of the 1991 Chota Bazaar massacre in Srinagar. On its 33rd anniversary, she recalled how India’s Central Reserve Force personnel killed thirty-two civilians and injured twenty-two others by opening fire on them.

Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people. She emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with UN Security Council resolutions.

In response to a query, Baloch stated that Pakistan and Afghanistan are actively discussing various aspects of their trade mechanisms. Both countries have agreed on arrangements to facilitate the movement of trade vehicles, drivers, and helpers from both sides, aiming to enhance bilateral trade relations.
