Pakistan, Cambodia Agree to Promote Bilateral Trade, Investment

PHNOM PENH: Pakistan and Cambodia on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a joint trade committee.

The MoU was inked in Phnom Penh between Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul and Pakistani Ambassador to Cambodia Zaheeruddin Babar Thaheem.

Nimul said at the event that this MoU will significantly contribute to the elevation of the two nations’ relations, especially on trade and economic cooperation.

Pakistan-Cambodia Joint Trade Committee

She added that the joint trade committee established under this memorandum will serve as a mechanism that allows both countries to explore ways to create favourable conditions for businesses and investors and to diversify economies, foster bilateral trade, and expand production bases.

Under the MoU, both sides will work together and actively engage the private sectors, including business associations and chambers of commerce, to promote trade and economic activities.

Both countries will exchange information on trade, promote small and medium enterprises, and boost mutual exports.
