BEIJING: On the 16th anniversary of the Pakistan Center for Cultural and Communication Studies’ establishment at Tsinghua University, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashimi, and Tsinghua University’s School of Journalism Dean, Zhou Qingan, unveiled the new office of the center.

Ambassador Hashmi, during a meeting with Tsinghua University’s Vice President Peng Gang, praised the university’s esteemed education standards and top rankings in Asia and globally.

He also thanked Peng Gang for the university’s ongoing support of China-Pakistan relations, particularly in facilitating Pakistani students’ education and fostering cultural and research collaborations with institutions in Pakistan.

Following this, Ambassador Hashmi visited Tsinghua University’s School of Journalism, where he inaugurated the new office for Pakistan Culture and Communication Studies. Discussions were held on potential initiatives to enhance cooperation between the School of Journalism and the Pakistan Embassy, aiming to strengthen media and cultural ties between China and Pakistan.

A notable upcoming collaboration is the “China-Pakistan Cultural Corridor Caravan Class,” jointly organized by the School of Journalism at Tsinghua University, the Pakistan Center for Culture and Communication Studies, Quaid-i-Azam University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and the Communication University of China.

This three-week caravan class will traverse the Karakoram and Hindu Kush Mountains, exploring and documenting the historical routes of ancient Chinese monks in northern Pakistan and Gao Xianzhi’s expedition across Hindukush.
