Pakistan, China Agree to Enhance Collaboration in IT Sector

Pakistan's minister visits iSoftStone Technology Park and discusses future cooperation possibilities.

BEIJING: Pakistan and China have agreed to collaborate in developing innovative digital technology products and solutions.

An understanding to this effect was reached during the visit of Pakistan’s Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal to the iSoftStone Information Technology Park in Beijing on Wednesday.

The two sides exchanged views on future cooperation in the field of Information Technology.

The Pakistani side on the occasion also delivered a presentation on technology integration in the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Cooperation.

The Minister visited the headquarters and exhibition area and was shown a demonstration of the latest products, services and solutions being provided by the company.

He was given a briefing on the company’s business development in the Middle East and Central Asia.

The minister, along with the Pakistani delegation, was received by Vice President of International Business Department Yin Lu and Vice President Intelligent Electronics Li Chuan, a news release said.

It is pertinent to mention that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong in September this year said that Pakistan was looking to enhance its cooperation with China in key areas, including information technology, artificial intelligence, and modern agriculture.

The prime minister commended the Chinese leadership’s vision for consistently strengthening Pakistan-China strategic relations and upgrading the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
