ISLAMABAD: The Indus Shield-Chinese exercise, a bilateral air combat training module, was concluded at a Pakistan Air Force operational base, the military media wing stated in a press release.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise witnessed participation from the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) of China, which deployed advanced personnel and high-tech equipment, including AESA radar, long-range Beyond Visual Range (BVR)-equipped J-16 and J-10C fighter jets, the powerful HQ-22 surface-to-air missile system.
These assets were pitted against the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) J-10C and JF-17 Block-III fighter jets, engaging in contemporary aerial combat scenarios.
The successful execution of this large-scale exercise demonstrates the Pakistan Air Force’s joint operational readiness alongside allied nations while addressing modern security challenges.
Aimed at validating interoperability between China and Pakistan in contemporary air combat, the exercise simulated a variety of military tactics in a near-realistic multi-domain operational training environment.
Indus Shield-Chinese has maximized the warfighting potential of both participating air forces.
