Pakistan-China Joint Ventures to Strengthen Economy: PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz on Thursday said that joint ventures between Pakistan and China in the fields of mines and minerals, information technology, export zones, industrial zones, and relocation of industry from China will further strengthen Pakistan’s economy.

The Prime Minister was talking to a high-level Chinese delegation in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said enhanced Pakistan-China cooperation will help strengthen bilateral arrangements regarding investments, industry, agriculture, Special Economic Zones, and agriculture sectors.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan can enhance its agricultural exports to China by making them more competitive and quality-oriented as per the needs of the Chinese market.

PM Shehbaz Sharif further apprised the delegation of the Federal Cabinet’s decision, to exempt Chinese citizens from visa fees with effect from the 14th of this month.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of Chinese citizens in Besham, a few months ago, the Prime Minister assured to provide foolproof security to Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
