Pakistan Clinches Gold, Two Bronze Medals at South Asian Bodybuilding Championship

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has emerged triumphant at the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship held in Male, Maldives, securing one gold and two bronze medals in various weight categories.

Shahzad Qureshi from Pakistan displayed exceptional prowess and determination, clinching the gold medal in the fiercely contested 80kg category. Qureshi’s remarkable performance included a remarkable upset victory over two strong Indian bodybuilders. As the national anthem played and the Pakistani flag soared high, Qureshi stood proudly on the podium, rightfully earning his gold medal.

This victory marked Qureshi’s second gold medal for Pakistan in the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship, building on his previous success in the event. His outstanding achievements serve as a testament to his dedication and skills in the field of bodybuilding.

In addition to Qureshi’s remarkable feat, Ibrahim Khan and Shahidullah also brought glory to Pakistan by securing bronze medals in their respective weight categories. Khan clinched the bronze medal in the junior category’s 75kg division, while Shahidullah achieved the same feat in the 75kg category.

The Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation Secretary, Sohail Anwar, extended his warm congratulations to the three bodybuilders for their exceptional performances. The presence of the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Maldives and the Sports Minister of Maldives at the event further underscored the significance of this achievement for Pakistan.
