ISLAMABAD: Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, said here on Wednesday that the government of Pakistan was dedicated to completing the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program.
According to a press statement issued by the finance ministry, the minister briefed the Ambassador of the United States of America to Pakistan, Donald Blome, who called on him, about the progress on the current talks with the IMF. He said Pakistan values its deep-rooted historic and long-lasting bilateral economic and trade ties with the United States.
Pakistan’s Budgetary Measures to Narrow Fiscal Gap: Ishaq Dar
Dar shared the government’s economic policies and priorities for addressing the current economic situation and putting the economy back on track for stability and prosperity. He told the US Ambassador of the government’s budgetary measures to narrow the fiscal gap in order to meet the country’s national and international financial responsibilities.
The two sides also discussed areas of mutual interest and how the two country’s existing bilateral relations may be strengthened further.
On the occasion, the US Ambassador expressed confidence in the government’s policies and programs for economic sustainability and socioeconomic improvement of the population.
He expressed his support for the expansion of bilateral economic, investment, and commercial links between the two countries. Dar congratulated the US Ambassador and emphasized the government’s aim to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties with the US.
