Pakistan Committed to “Digital Pakistan” Vision: Ambassador Haque

BEIJING: Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Moin ul Haque, has emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to its “Digital Pakistan” vision, actively seeking to leverage its youthful and innovative population by establishing the Special Technology Zone Authority. The goal is to attract technology companies to set up research and development centers and manufacturing units in Pakistan.

Ambassador Haque spoke at the “China-Pakistan Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation – Shared Journey to a Digital Era” international conference, which coincided with the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) held in Beijing.

During his address, Ambassador Haque highlighted the collaborative efforts between Pakistan and China under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework. These efforts have resulted in the launch of China-Pakistan Digital, Green, and Health Corridors, aiming to harness the potential of both countries in these critical sectors.

Vision of Digital Pakistan

Haque emphasized the importance of establishing connections between academic institutions, research organizations, and IT companies to successfully implement the vision of a Digital Pakistan. He also underscored the significance of science, technology, and innovation in addressing current challenges and ensuring a prosperous future for both nations and the global community.

Zhang Xiaodong, Director General of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, highlighted the conference’s objective of promoting scientific and technological exchanges between China and Pakistan. He stressed the need for knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and the development of Special Technology Zones across Pakistan.
